The Brand

Coder Academy is the go-to for kicking off a career in web development in Australia. It's all about coding bootcamps that fast-track students’ journeys into tech. Practical skills, industry connections, a direct path to a dream job… They really have it all!

Social media is essential for Coder Academy. It helps create a tight-knit community of aspiring developers who see these bootcamps as their gateway to the world of tech.

As you can imagine, handling the social media calendar and creating content for Coder was a lot of fun!

  • Who are Coders? Think mostly career changers with a passion for breaking into the IT industry. These folks like banter, memes, and geeking out over smart humour. They’re all about diving into a new industry where they can thrive alongside like-minded coders.

  • Coder is present on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. However, Instagram and LinkedIn stand out as the best performers.

Why? Instagram excels in visual appeal, and LinkedIn resonates with Coders eager to connect with aspiring tech professionals looking to launch their careers and forge valuable connections.

  • The vibe is all about fun and smart humour. Speaking the language of developers—inside jokes included, often centred around the shared challenges of coding, to foster a sense of unity. The message? Get trained up fast, start writing code and make cash ASAP, and find your fit in the tech world. It’s about joining a community of doers!

Impact

One of my key contributions was setting up a consistent content calendar to keep our posts flowing smoothly and organized, with a mix of formats and purposes. I made sure our content really connected with the community, which helped boost engagement.

While I had a blast making memes, I also streamlined post creation, working closely with graphic designers and team members for an easy workflow. This was particularly helpful during the busy webinar periods! I also set standards for repurposing video content from these events, ensuring we got the most out of our efforts across platforms.

Overall, my role wasn't just about managing social media—it was about boosting team collaboration, making sure our social media game continued to be strong.
